Duties of the Department of Legislative Affairs:
To carry out legislative work with local authorities and carrying out the necessary procedures for their entry into force,
To present opinions on the new legislation to be prepared or amended from Ministry units, other ministries and public institutions and organizations,
To form an opinion in order to eliminate the hesitations that may arise regarding the implementation of the legislation regarding local authorities,
To provide coordination with the opinions of other institutions and organizations that are required to be taken as per the legislation before they come into force, about the legislative texts prepared with the knowledge established by the local authorities, their affiliates and local authorities,
To monitor and evaluate the implementation of the local authorities legislation in force, to make suggestions on legislative changes and to submit project proposals,
To carry out the works and procedures related to the preparation and publication of circulars by coordinating with other units when necessary on matters concerning local authorities,
To carry out the procedures for giving opinions on issues where there is hesitation by governorships, other ministries and public institutions regarding local government legislation,
To form the opinion of the Ministry by taking the opinions of the local authorities on the study of tourism areas and fishermen's shelters,
Responding to the petitions regarding the issues that fall within its scope of duty,
To ensure the fulfillment of archiving works and other tasks,
